“Above the Fog – Below the Snow” – Colfax-Weimar area is a rural community 10 miles from Placer County seat Auburn, along the east-west Interstate 80 corridor connecting the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond the Nevada state line. A historic mining and railroad area at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, properties in this market area range in age (pre-1900s-2000s), style (vintage bungalow and Victorian to contemporary Mediterranean), lot size (from postage-stamp sized building lots (mostly in town) to 10+ acres and zoning (from R1 single family to Res-Agr to Res-Forest). There are few planned or condominium developments, few multi-unit properties and no mixed Res-Com’l use. Potable water for most properties outside of town center is from on-site domestic wells, waste disposal from on-site septic system, with some properties benefitting from irrigation water for agricultural uses (availability is dependent on location). Local boutique businesses support the immediate area, with the center of County administration, finances, businesses and shopping located in Auburn 15 miles distant. Area’s K-12 schools are located in Colfax.
